It varies. We currently have around 1,000 stores on the site but our Marketing Team reviews the stores each week. When the marketing team reviews the stores we look at new stores t

When the marketing team reviews the stores we look at new stores that our members have recommended or which have contacted us and we also look at feedback we've had from our members regarding a retailer's customer service. Based on this we decide whether stores should be added or in some cases removed from the Getting There mall.
Sometimes retailers ask to join the Getting There mall in order to raise awareness of their products and services and offer lead payments only. In these cases in the interests of maintaining the retailer's goodwill no cashback payments will be earned.

Getting There then uses this money to cover it's marketing, staffing and development costs. Apart from maintaining the Getting There website Getting There's marketing costs include helping causes to run e-mail campaigns, promoting the fund -raising events and social activities causes are running and generally helping to make the cause to be better known and raise more funds.
Your share of the referral fee is paid into your account and 100% of that is given either to you or to the cause you support. No deductions are made for postage and administration.

I made a purchase through Getting There why hasn't the cashback appeared in my account?
Unfortunately cashback is NOT an immediate process.

Unfortunately cashback is NOT an immediate process.
Whilst many retailers send the referral fees through within 14 days some can take up to 8 weeks to let us have details of your searches and purchases. Timescales differ according to each retailer.
Other reasons your purchases may take time to show up in your account are:-
- There is a 14 day returns policy on the product eg. fashion, mobiles, shoes etc.
- It is a pre-order. This will show up in your account as a zero value until the goods you ordered are delivered.
- It is a hotel, event, flight etc and the date of the booking hasn't yet passed.
Please also check the retailer's terms and conditions.
Another reason why the cashback might not be showing is if you made the purchase from amazon. Most of the retailers on Getting There provide a breakdown of the cashback individual members of Getting There have earned. A few, including amazon don't do this. Instead they send through a lump sum. If you don't send Getting There the amazon e-mail confirmation when ever you buy from them then we don't know which members have been buying from amazon and so can't allocate the cashback to individual members. Monies we receive from amazon and can't allocate are paid out to Getting There members as follows
- 45% of the unallocated amazon monies are distributed to Getting There members taking into account the value of the purchases made.
- 45% of the unallocated amazon monies are distributed to Getting There members taking into account the number of purchases made
- 10% of the unallocated funds is distributed wholly at the discretion of Getting There's directors amongst causes using Getting There
Unallocated monies from amazon payments and other unallocated funds are paid out with the payments for March, June, September and December.

It's not possible for everyone to run marathons, sail an ocean or climb the highest mountains but through Getting There you too can make a positive difference to the cause you support whether it's one of the big charities or something closer to home such as helping your local school raise funds or helping a grandchild get through university.

If you want to use Getting There to help a star of the future or to help raise funds for something more individual such as trekking in the Himalayas, climbing Mont Blanc or sailing the Atlantic then you can either
- add them to the relevant category of causes, or
- you can make them a "private" cause in "Causes for Families and Friends" In this case we will do everything we can to protect your privacy including allocating you a cause name

How much cashback do I need to "earn" before it is donated to the cause I support?
To an extent this depends on how many other cause supporters are using Getting There.

Getting There donates the cashbacks in your account to the cause you support as soon as practicable after the 20th of each month.
The cashback in your account will be donated automatically each month provided the aggregate cashback in all the accounts of a cause's supporters is at least £25.00.
Any cashback under this amount is carried forward to the next month.

"7. In general, ordinary retail customers purchasing goods, investments or services at arms length will not be liable to income or capital gains tax in respect of any commission, discounts or cashbacks received by them. For example, an ordinary retail customer who, when purchasing a car, negotiates to receive part of the commission earned on the sale by the salesperson will not be liable to income or capital gains tax in respect of that commission."
